Meeting with the California Dental Association and Pacific University at a Head Start Center in San Mateo, CA.  This sight provides dental services to children via the Virtual Dental Home Project.

Dental care is provided to children with portable equipment.  Pictured here is the portal xray unit and inter-oral camera that are used to provide information to the Dentist who is conducting diagnosis and treatment planning for patients off-site at a hub office.

Preventive services and minor dental treatment are provided in the Virtual Dental Home by a Registered Dental Hygienist and Dental Assistant/Patient Navigator.  A quiet space with portable equipment and an internet connection is all that is needed.

The dental home for children at the Head Start Center, pictured here, is at the Center itself.  Only children who need dental treatment receive care at a traditional dental office.
